Glucose Trend Arrows Not Updating Correctly ⬆️⬇️➡️↗️↘

I’ve noticed that the glucose trend arrow on the iPhone Home Screen widget, Lock Screen widget and Apple Watch often stays pointing right (➡️), indicating stable glucose, even when my glucose level is clearly rising or falling.
For example, I ate chocolate to test it, and my glucose started rising, but the arrow continued to show ➡️ instead of updating to reflect the change.
I’ve also noticed that the Lock Screen widget seems to be the most accurate of the three, although it still doesn’t always show the correct information.
Could you investigate whether the trend arrows are updating correctly and using the latest available glucose data? It would be helpful if the glucose value and trend arrow refreshed together, so the arrow doesn’t continue showing an outdated trend.
Ideally, all widgets and the Apple Watch should display consistent, up-to-date glucose readings and trend arrows, as these are important for understanding whether glucose is rising, falling or staying stable.

Hi Has, thanks for testing this so carefully, it really helps. Quick question first: when Glynce showed → while you were rising, did you check the LibreLink app at the same time? Was the arrow flat there as well?
I ask because Glynce doesn’t work out the arrow itself. It’s the trend arrow your Libre sensor sends through LibreLinkUp, the same one LibreLink shows. The number and the arrow always arrive together, so the arrow always belongs to the number next to it.
There are two reasons the arrow can stay → while you’re going up:
Libre’s arrow only changes once the rise is fast enough. It shows → for anything slower than about 0.06 mmol/L per minute (about 0.9 mmol/L every 15 minutes), and only turns ↗ above that. Libre also smooths the arrow, so it reacts a bit late. A rise after chocolate often starts slowly, so you can go from 6 to 8 mmol/L and still see → for a while, in LibreLink too.
Not every widget updates as often. You’re right that the Lock Screen is the most accurate:
Home Screen widgets and Watch complications refresh when iOS allows it, usually every few minutes. With Faster updates via Bluetooth on, your iPhone also sends each new reading to your Watch, but watchOS limits how often a complication can update, so it can be a few minutes behind. Opening Glynce on your Watch fetches the newest reading straight away.
The Live Activity on your Lock Screen is updated by Glynce itself. With Faster updates via Bluetooth on, your Libre sends a reading to your phone about every minute, and each time Glynce wakes up, fetches the newest reading and arrow, and updates the Live Activity right away.
So for the most up-to-date number and arrow, the Live Activity with Faster updates via Bluetooth is the best option.
If you didn’t get a chance to compare, could you next time? A screenshot of Glynce and LibreLink at the same moment would be perfect. If LibreLink also shows →, Glynce is showing what Libre sends. If LibreLink shows ↗ or ↑ while Glynce shows →, that’s a bug on our side and I’ll look into it straight away.
Thanks again!
